KinGrid is pre-launch — it is not available to download yet. We are currently validating the offline mesh, the device-to-device connectivity everything else depends on, before building out the full app. Join the waitlist and you'll hear from us when there's something real to try.

iOS first, with Android to follow. The mesh relies on low-level radio behaviour that differs between the two platforms, so we are getting it right on one before shipping the other.

We haven't set pricing, and we're not going to invent a number to fill this space. What we can say is that the core promise — keeping your group together at an event — is the reason the app exists, and we're not interested in making that the paywall.

Phones link directly to each other over short-range radio rather than routing through a cell tower, and information can hop from phone to phone across your group. The offline connection carries only location pings, totem drops, and presence — deliberately narrow, so it stays fast and light on battery. There is a fuller explanation on the How It Works page.

Only the squad you deliberately built for that event. KinGrid is not a festival-wide map of strangers, and there is no browsing nearby people you have not connected with. Visibility is explicit, scoped to one event, and you can turn it off.

Location is there to solve a live problem — where is my group, right now — not to build a history of your movements. Our current privacy policy covers the website; a full app privacy policy will be published before the app collects any data, and it will say plainly what is kept and for how long.

It had better not, or it has failed at its job. All-day use on a single charge is a hard design constraint, not an aspiration — everything that touches GPS or radio is tuned against that budget. An app that leaves you at 8% before the headliner is worse than useless.

No. At each event you choose a rave name — the identity your people see for that event only. It does not have to be your legal name, and it does not follow you from event to event unless you want it to.

No. Alongside curated events with a map and schedule, you can create a lightweight event of your own for a smaller gathering — a day party, a campout, a night out — and use the same squad map and totems there.

Not in the first release. Offline messaging is deferred on purpose: keeping the payload small is what makes the mesh work on battery and hold up as a crowd grows. Location, totems, and presence are what actually keep a group together.
